Maritime shepherd the fleet away from a visiting whale. It’s certainly been a different winter on Sydney Harbour than usual, while there’s been plenty of sunshine, the breeze has not been so forthcoming. Normally winter consists of light sou-easters and the occasional fresh westerly, this time we’ve had gloriously sunny days with westerlies around five knots or lower, week after week, with a number of races abandoned as a result. Still, where else would you rather be, escaping the office on an uncrowded harbour with like-minded friends, intent on sailing and fun. The ever-welcoming crew on NOMA. As ever Forza 2 is the boat to watch out for with speed aplenty, though now starting 23 minutes behind the first boat off, means John and crew have a lot of chasing to do. A new challenge was presented to the race committee one afternoon, as…

With now four Corsair 880s in the water and a further two due in May/July this year we are getting great feedback on the boats performance with owners commenting on the boats sailabilty and ease of sailing – even solo sailing is very manageable with the use of the autopilot to steer the boat whilst they set sails. The latest 880 was commissioned in Brisbane and then trailered to the Whitsundays (1200km) – this is what they are designed to be doing – being able to trailer the boat to exciting destinations is great for time poor (and who isn’t time poor these days?) owners which means that they can enjoy beautiful destinations that would take weeks to sail to and without the expense of a large boat. Not to be outdone, the Corsair 760 and 760R are also enjoying complimentary feedback from…
