Palm Beach, FL – USA: Multihull Central is pleased to announce that the first Aquila Power Catamaran to be delivered to Australia was sold in Florida at the Palm Beach International Boat Show.
Andrew and Deirdre McLeod confirmed their order for a new Aquila 44 following a sea trial off Palm Beach, Florida after completing an extensive worldwide search for the best cruising power boat.
Their new Aquila 44 power catamaran will be delivered next summer into Australia. Upon delivery, the McLeod’s will begin a cruise of Australia’s east coast attending various boat shows and ports in their effort to promote the exciting and innovative Aquila brand in this market.
“There’s just nothing else like the Aquila 44,” explains Andrew McLeod, “We fell in love with her the first time we stepped aboard. The stability, quality of finish, living space, overall amenity and value for money that the Aquila 44 delivers is, in my view, unmatched by any other manufacturer”, Andrew comments.
Multihull Central Director Brent Vaughan, who accompanied the McLeods on their visit to the Palm Beach International Boat Show, stated “I’m thrilled for Andrew and Dee and I’m excited to see this new generation of power catamarans on its way to Australia soon”. After fifteen years in the multihull industry, I have never seen a power cat design that caters so well to families and cruising couples”, Brent explains, “The efficiency, amenities and living comforts of the Aquila 44 make her perfect for the Gold Coast, Sydney Harbour, Pittwater, or cruising to the Whitsundays and beyond to NT and WA.
“I am confident that this evolution in power catamaran design and build is the direction that power cats will go in the future and Aquila is leading the way”.
Aquila, built by Sino Eagle Yacht Company, is a fusion of European, American and Asian innovation and includes 38’, 44’ and 48’ models bringing an entirely new perspective to the private ownership and charter markets. Aquila, quickly becoming the choice of the world’s leading Marine charter and boating lifestyle companies, is designed as cruising power catamarans through a collaboration of European design firm J&J Designs (also responsible for the successful Greenline) and is the brainchild of industry veteran, Lex Raas, who has decades of experience in the catamaran manufacturing and charter boat industries.
“We feel that we have gotten the balance right,” comments Lex of the Aquila 44, “We are very happy with how she has come together and the design has been received extremely well by both the international and domestic markets.”
The Aquila 44 is the newest of the Aquila range which also include a 38 foot and 48 foot model. All three Aquila designs are available for charter in the Caribbean with MarineMax Vacations, where they have a fleet of 25 Aquila Power Catamarans. “The new Aquila range is the business class of cruising, raising the bar in expected catamaran performance and luxury”, said Lex.
“If you think this boat is just for the boys you will be surprised. Her allure while stepping into the cockpit and galley bar is just the beginning. Believe me ladies, you will just love this boat!” says Dee.
Though the McLeod’s Aquila 44 won’t be in Australia until next summer, further information will be available at the Multihull Central Stand during the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show May 21-24, 2015. Both Andrew and Dee will be in attendance to answer any questions about their experience onboard the Aquila 44 and 48.
