Multihull Central in association with Outremer Yachts is pleased to announce a special tour to the South of France to join and compete in the Outremer Cup. The tour will include sailing on board a late model Outremer and competing in the four days of racing out of La Grande Motte, a tour of the Outremer Factory, plus site seeing and wine tasting at the local vineyards in this beautiful part of the world.
The Outremer Cup is open to all models of Outremer and is hosted by the La Grande Motte Yacht Club, home of the French Nacra 17 catamaran Olympic team. Racing is competitive but friendly, with plenty of laughs shared at the end of the day over some nice French wine. Though most of the crews are French, there are several crews from various parts of Europe that travel there to compete.
In 2013, members of the Multihull Central team competed in the Outremer Cup where 11 boats competed in perfect sunny, windy and flat conditions on the Mediterrenean Sea, racing on board the 49 and 5X models.
Participants of the tour will crew on board an Outremer and a Multihull Central representative will be on board to help sail and offer coaching if required. The boats will be located close to the La Grande Motte Yacht Club in the marina which is also walking distance to the Outremer Factory and cafes and restaurants in town. There is a wide range of accommodation close by too.
Following the regatta, Outremer will provide a VIP tour through their factory showing the Outremer 51 and 5X under construction at various stages, plus the new 45 in development. An Outremer 51 and 5X are expected to compete at the regatta and participants will be invited to inspect and possibly sail on these models too.
A day will be set aside to visit some local tourist sites, and followed by wine tasting at the local vineyards
