The amazing Privilege Serie 6 – Rolls Royce of the Sea A walk through guided tour by Brent Vaughan There are few that catamaran manufactures in the world you could compare to Rolls Royce, but that’s where Privilege comfortably sit in the spectrum of builders. Exquisite finishes and attention to detail, large luxurious living spaces and accommodation, and solid uncompromising engineering and construction making the boat not only a real sailors boat, but one that you would not second guess when crossing the Atlantic. I was lucky enough to spend a day exploring the latest 6 Serie recently launched and on display at the Prilege factory located at the famous Les Sables d’Olone on the Atlantic Coast of France in the Bay of Biscay. Les Sables d’Olone is famous for the Vendee Globe round the world yacht race that starts and finishes…
Aquila 44 3rd Charter Boat for Arundell Family Wendy and Tony Arundell were all smiles as they stepped onboard their new Aquila 44 power catamaran “Champagne Sunset” in the first week of 2018 with their growing family, setting the tone of exciting year ahead on the water. After falling in love with the Aquila 44 at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show in 2017, they placed an order on the spot and immediately set plans in motion to enter her into a bareboat charter operation with Cumberland Charter Yachts. “We didn’t actually come to the boat show to buy the Aquila,” Tony said of their trip to Sanctuary Cove visit last year, “In fact we only came onboard to rule it out from our short list, but the minute we saw it, we fell in love and the rest is history”. Cumberland Charter Yachts…

Champagne Sailing – a Seawind 1160 Resort for Charter in Sydney What an incredible summer it has been so far! Tim & Julie were lucky enough to buy a brand new catamaran during the Winter of 2017, and took ownership of her in December 2017, smack bang in the middle of peak season!! They named her ‘Champagne Sailing’ as she truly represents our company, a great sailing catamaran, perfect for relaxing onboard and sipping Champagne or your drink of choice. She comfortably holds up to 43 people, and they have been jam packed with bookings for corporates, hens partys, birthday parties and lots of social events over Christmas and New Year. The boat itself has great flow between an undercover area and the outdoor area, with heaps of seating and tables to lay out food and drinks. Best of all 2 brand new bathrooms…
Seawind Catamaran’s Annual Rally series hosted by Multihull Central had its final race last week on the beautiful waters of Moreton Bay. The series which is held as separate rallies in the Whitsundays, Brisbane and Sydney is open to all Seawind catamarans either chartered or privately owned. The hotly contested events consist of racing with a number of social functions and are the highlight of the sailing season for many Seawind owners and their crew. Not only do they allow owners to gauge and improve their performance, but they are a great social occasion with lots of fun, tales told and lasting friendships formed. Brisbane’s Seawind Rally was held on the picturesque Moreton Bay mid November with the fleet enjoying mixed conditions. Friday afternoon’s Test & Tune sail had most of the fleet out enjoying the beautiful Queensland weather before heading back to Wynnum…
“I had a motor 30 foot motor cruiser for about 10 years and when I moved to Brighton I joined the Royal Brighton Yacht Club. When I asked about mooring there, they told me that my boat would “need to grow a mast” if I wanted to more it there. Miranda and I visited the 2014 Melbourne Boat Show and were knocked out when we saw Terry and Barbara Jones’s 1250 there. So much space for living and entertaining clients. Found out about the June Whitsundays Seawinds Regatta and thought this would be a great way to find out more about the Seawinds and meet some owners. Graeme Nolan spent the week onboard with us training and explaining everything. My knowledge of sailing was limited to sailing a few Hoby Cats, so a lot to learn. Met some great people who were owners of…
Multihull Central’s recently appointed Event’s Coordinator enjoys her first Whitsunday Rally as a novice sailor. Such a fantastic week had up in our very own Australian Paradise. This year we had 30 people across 7 Seawind Catamarans island hopping through the Whitsunday’s over the entire week. The Whitsunday’s first of all is undeniably beautiful, I was also surprised how pleasant the weather is up there in Winter having never been in season myself before. The first group dinner at Sorrentos was great to break the ice and meet the teams before we set sail the next morning over the Cid Harbour. Unfortunately the rain set in towards the back end of the race, however once we anchored and after our teams creative sandcastles we saw the light and had a stunning sundowner all onboard the party boat, Reflection! I might have been a little…
Following the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show last week, we took a few customers & the Seawind 1160 Lite out for a spin on the Sunshine State’s Gold Coast waters. It was the perfect day for a sail with the winds reasonably strong and our sails ready for action. The test sailors on board had sailed a couple of times before and were helping the guys tack. And steer.. Terry Jones on the bow explaining the Lite’s Genoa. Checking performance levels. It was great to be able to show the Lite’s advantage with lift & acceleration over the heavier models. Crew complete with Seawind Caps – how a Seawind should be sailed! We hope everyone enjoyed their sail just as much as we did. Don’t miss out on the next test sail after Sydney Boat show or alternatively contact us to book a test sail…
