INTRODUCING THE EXCITING NEW SEAWIND 1270

The Seawind 1260, much awarded & loved model has undergone a major re-design and will be re-introduced in early 2026 as the Seawind 1270. This eagerly anticipated new Seawind model completes the transition to the “new look” Seawinds to join its sister vessels SW1160XL / SW1170 and SW1370.The new SW1270 is getting close to reality with the completely new hull & deck tooling almost completed and production scheduled to commence in November 2025.

The first SW1270 will hit the water in April, 2026.

With the new SW1270, we have retained all the Seawind DNA and continued the 1260 concept & design features that have been so successful and so loved.  

Overall, there are approx. 35 design changes from the current SW1260 to the new SW1270. Some of these are major ones which have made significant improvements in relation to style, performance, safety and ergonomics. Some are relatively minor but addressing small issues that needed improvement.  

DESIGN AND STRUCTURE

  • Re-designed to meet ISO rules Category A Unlimited Offshore. EU Certification. 
  • Structural laminate re-design to reduce weight. 
  • Revised sail plan. Increased size of main & jib 
  • Increased length. Now 12.85 mtrs / 42 ft – increase of 400mm / 7inches. Beam now 6.95  mtrs and increase of 120mm.

EXTERIOR

  • Extra 60 mm hull beam: The effect of this is huge. More buoyancy resulting in an increased underwing clearance which is now 0.85mtr. Greater interior volume & space. 
  • Changed underwater shape for increased performance. This was done in conjunction with renowned Australian marine architect Stuart Bloomfield.  
  • Wider transom & transom flare. This will increase off wind sailing performance 
  • Reverse Bows: These look great but will have huge benefits. More powerful bows and greatly increased bow buoyancy.

  • Huge increase in interior volume.  
  • Saloon 120mm wider and 180mm longer.  
  • Wider (60mm ) walkways in both hulls. 
  • Hull floors ( port & starboard ) now one level throughout.  
  • Forward beds: Huge increase in height above the beds.

  • Aft starboard bed now a proper double bed. Length 1.93mtr Width 1.30mtr 
  • Hull head height 1.95mtr in both Saloon and Hulls.
