We have just returned from a month’s sailing trip to Tasmania on our Seawind 1250 – Whiskers! This was our second trip in two years having enjoyed it so much last year that we vouched to return. We left on 8th February and sailed from Martha Cove to Bicheno on the NE Coast in 4 days via Cape Woolamai, Deal Island, and Badger Island (off Flinders Island). Our total sailing time was 52 hours so we made it in good time with the weather in our favour. After 2 days in Bicheno, we sailed down the east coast of Tasmania past the scenic Freycinet Peninsula and Schouten Island. We spent a night at Riedle Bay, Maria Island then ventured further on towards Tasman Island sailing past the majestic rock cliffs of the Tasman peninsula and into Port Arthur. We are searching for the world’s best cruising short films shot in the spirit of adventure. Capturing the most inspirational experiences caught on camera while cruising on some of the worlds most breathtaking bodies of water. Video entries are open worldwide to anyone who has filmed an experience, culture, destination and wildlife above or below the water that tells a good story of their voyage or ‘SEAbbatical’. You may be an aspiring filmmaker, or perhaps someone who was in the right place at the right time with the red light flashing. The keenly anticipated Seawind 1260 is nearing launch, with the first boat only a few months from her debut at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. The excitement that surrounds this launch comes from the genesis of the boat – which came from conversations with the many Seawind owners who were looking for something more from a 41-footer.  Here is a hint of what is to come.
